Letter From the Manager

Welcome Fairgoers,

Since 1980, the Firefighters’ Fair has been a proud tradition in Indian River County, bringing families, friends, and neighbors together for clean fun and lasting memories. With great pride, I am stepping into the role of General Manager. I’ve been honored to serve on the Fair Board for many years, and in 2026 I will proudly celebrate my 20th year as a board member. I would not be in this position without the guidance and mentorship of past fair managers Toby Turner and Wayne Howard, and I am deeply grateful for their leadership and example.

This year’s fair, scheduled for March 13th – 22nd, will once again showcase the kind of family entertainment our community has trusted for over 45 years—highlighting agriculture, education, livestock, creative crafts, local entertainment, and, of course, great fair food. We encourage everyone to get involved by entering one of our competitions, from baked goods and creative crafts to the always-exciting demolition derby.

Over the years, attendance has gone up and down due to weather or the economy, but one thing has remained constant: our fair continues to attract upwards of 50,000 guests each year. Many came as children decades ago and now return with children of their own. That sense of tradition is what makes our fair so special.

Since 1980, proceeds from the Firefighters’ Fair have gone right back into the community—supporting the Indian River County Burn Fund, fairground improvements, other charitable organizations, and public safety initiatives.

I am incredibly proud of our fair staff, volunteers, and sponsors who work tirelessly to bring this event to life each year. I encourage you to take time to enjoy all the activities, invite your family and friends, and help us continue building on the atmosphere of fun, rides, cleanliness, food, and family that makes our fair one of the premier events in Indian River County.

Sincerely,
Ryan Krueger
