Carl Owens, was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL and for a while lived in Panama City, FL – an area that is lovingly known as the "Redneck Riviera." Carl's musical aspirations started young, and he grew up singing in church. Gospel and Country music are not that far apart, and his tastes in music started to shift more towards country as he got older.
One of his major influences, Gary Stewart, a major country recording artist of the 70's, is one of Fort Pierce's own. Carl named his band “Whiskey Trip” after hearing Gary Stewart’s song of the same name. He thought "this would be a cool name for a band!" Carl is single and has no children. His mother and father attend most every single show and are his biggest fans.
Carl always believes in pushing forward to follow his dreams. Carl can be found every weekend, and most times during the week at various local venues on the Treasure Coast of Florida (an area from Sebastian, FL to Stuart, FL).
Carl Owens & Whiskey Trip is his 5 piece Country & Honky Tonk influenced band from Florida’s Treasure Coast. Named for one of their favorite Gary Stewart songs, the band was formed by Carl Owens and is accompanied by top touring performers. Their unique brand of entertainment, hard-driving lead guitar, vocal harmonies, and sometimes impromptu additions of songs not previously played together will make you want to dance and sing along. Known in the Southeast US as one of the best bands in Florida by fans since 2021. Over the years, they have opened up for Deana Carter, Mark Chestnut, Eli Young Band, Thomas Cain, David Lee Murphy, and Shenandoah!
