Firefighter Pageant Info

| 1. | Contestant must live in Indian River County. Contestants between the ages of 5-9 are eligible to participate. Contestant must be at least 5 years old but not older than 9 years old on March 10th, 2012. |
| 2. | An entry form must be completed for each child entering the pageant. The deadline to enter is March 5th, 2012. Entry form and fee must be received by this date. You must have a valid email address and a contact phone number. Email is the primary way we communicate information. You will receive a detailed email on March 7th with complete instructions for the day of the pageant and to confirm we received your entry form. |
| 3. | All contestants need to be at the Fairgrounds Main Stage by 5:45 pm on March 10, 2012. The fairgrounds are located at: 7955 58th Avenue, Vero Beach. Pageant starts promptly at 6:00 pm. |
| 4. | The contestant and 2 guests will be allowed complimentary entry into the Fairgrounds on the day of the pageant. All others coming to the pageant must pay regular gate admission. |
| 5. | Contestants will be judged on poise, personality and appearance. Each contestant will be asked a simple question by the M.C. and will respond using a microphone. The child and parents can create the question they wish the child to be asked. This way the child can rehearse in advance what they would like to say in response. We feel this way we can eliminate 1 word responses from the contestant. Their response can be as long as they like, we suggest responding in complete sentences. The question must be approved in advance by the pageant co-chairs. If your question is not approved, we will contact you to create a new one. |
| 6. | Dress attire is “Semi-Formal” or “Sunday’s Best”. We suggest whatever fits your child’s personality and what they are most comfortable wearing. Girl’s make-up should be kept to a minimum. |
| 7. | The winner’s will be crowned at the end of the event. There is a winner and first runner up for the Lil’ Mr. Firefighter and Lil’ Miss Firefighter. Since all contestants are considered winner’s in our eyes, each contestant will receive a firefighter’s medal and a goody bag for competing. |
| 8. | The winner in both the Little Mr. & Miss Firefighter pageant must be present at the following years Fair (2013) to be announced at the beginning of the pageant. They may be asked to make an appearance in a Firefighter event during the year. |
